Bishkek, October 8, 2026 - BAKAI announces the results of the annual international sustainability assessment, the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). As of the official score date, October 6, 2026, the Bank received a final score of 71 out of 100, up 14 points from its 2025 result.
Under the S&P Global CSA methodology, BAKAI's result places it in the 91st percentile among assessed companies in the global banking sector. This means the Bank ranks in the top 9% of the global banking sector based on the S&P Global CSA results.
For 2026, BAKAI’s score is nearly double the global industry average of 36 points, strengthening the Bank’s position among ESG leaders in the Central Asia and Caucasus region.
This strong result reflects the consistent transformation of the Bank's internal business processes and the development of its non-financial reporting in line with international disclosure standards.
BAKAI achieved its highest score in the Governance & Economic Dimension, at 76 points. The assessment took into account ethical and responsible business practices, the development of the risk management and compliance framework, the protection of stakeholder interests, and improvements in information security effectiveness.
"BAKAI's entry into the top 9% of the global banking sector in the highly regarded S&P Global CSA, and its standing among the region's ESG leaders, confirm our ambitions and the maturity of our governance model. We view ESG integration not as a standalone initiative, but as a tool for managing long-term risks and enhancing financial resilience and operational efficiency. Our 2026 results provide a solid foundation for further strengthening the Bank's market position and expanding our engagement with clients, partners, and investors. Over the medium term, we intend to continue our ESG transformation, with a focus on areas including customer centricity, digitalization, corporate transparency, and the development of sustainable finance instruments," said Timur Ibragimov, Chairman of the Management Board of BAKAI.
This achievement reflects BAKAI's systematic approach to sustainable development and to integrating ESG principles into the Bank's corporate governance, risk management, and long-term strategy.
Background
The S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) is one of the leading global benchmarks for evaluating long-term business sustainability and companies' alignment with ESG practices. The annual assessment covers the world's largest companies and is based on an analysis of industry-specific risks, opportunities, and management practices that affect financial performance and long-term value creation.
S&P Global CSA results are used to construct international sustainability indices, including the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) family, and are also used by investors and international financial institutions. A high CSA score signals to stakeholders a company's transparency, the quality of its corporate governance, and its ability to adapt to long-term risks and change.
